Riyadh-based gaming festival Gamers8 has announced Starcraft: Remastered and Starcraft 2 have joined its esports tournament lineup, with a $500,000 prize pool.
This is one of many tournaments that have so far been revealed by the eight-month long Saudi event, with more than $20m of the total $45m prize pool being announced.
Qualifiers for the tournament will take place at Gamers Without Borders, the world's biggest charity esports event. This will take place from April 14 - 23, with 24 players across two pools from South Korea and EPT. These will take place across two stages, with 16 players qualifying for Gamers8 through a Bo3/Bo5 double elimination bracket.
The lineup includes a Dota2 tournament with a $15m prize pool, a Fortnite Zero Build tournament with a $2m prize pool, a Rocket League tournament with a $2m prize pool and a CS:GO tournament with a $1m prize pool. More titles are expected to be revealed in the coming weeks
